The nursery places the emotional well-being of children at the heart of its philosophies. A child must feel safe, secure and loved before they can explore, play and learn. In order to successfully settle a child into the nursery environment we give time, patience and sensitivity.
Leaving your child at nursery for the first time can be a very emotional time for both your child and for you.
Developing a healthy bond between your child and those who care for him/her is vital to their wellbeing and giving a child loving reassurance when they are scared, hurt or angry is the key to giving children the best start in life.
We recognise just how important a child’s attachment to their parents/carers is for their emotional well-being and aim to create personalised settling-in programs for each child in partnership with parents/carer’s. Thus, each child’s settling process is different and no child will start nursery with us until they are ready.
*Please note during the COVID pandemic, our normal process has changed, please speak to a member of the team for more information on how we are running our settle sessions*
To help parents/carer’s prepare for this we have collated some materials that could help smooth the transition into nursery.
