SCDA are working in partnership with East Sussex County Council and local specialist money advice services – Citizen’s Advice, HARC, BHT, Amaze and Possability People – to deliver a series of training briefings on a range of financial issues, such as: welfare benefits, housing, debt and budgeting, form filling, better off calculations.
These sessions are for representatives from a range of East Sussex frontline organisations and the purpose is to:
- Ensure that frontline organisations understand their role and remit within the framework of quality assured information, advice and guidance on each topic
- Ensure that relevant frontline staff are able to provide detailed information and guidance on each topic to the public/their clients. This will include information on support and services available locally and nationally;
- Relieve pressure and alleviate demand on specialist advice services where possible as issues can be addressed through appropriate information and guidance rather than immediate referrals;
- Improve the financial health of East Sussex residents.
