SCDA’s HAF programme takes places every Easter, Summer and Christmas school holidays. We run 4 days a week (excluding bank holidays) Monday through to Thursday 10am – 2pm. Our sessions are run in Newhaven from Denton Island Community Centre and in Peacehaven from Telscombe Parish Hall. In order to be eligible young people must be aged between 7 – 11 years and in receipt of free school meals related benefits.
Every HAF day is varied we aim to serve up a menu of different activities both indoors and out. An example of these planned are – arts & crafts, cooking, circus skills, table tennis, street dance, drama, portrait drawing and science workshops. We also take the children on outings to different venues such as Newhaven Fort, Sky High Trampoling park, Paradise Park, Herstmonceux Science Centre, Knockhatch Adventure Park.
Every HAF session includes drink, snacks and lunch. On the last Thursday of the holidays we invite parents and siblings to join us for a shared lunch. There is emphasis on healthy food, trying different food types and helping chef to prepare our meals. Most importantly having fun with our experienced team of playworkers.
