Employability for Supported and Temporary Accommodation and Refuges (ESTAR) Moving On Up.
Moving On Up is a new initiative that offers any East Sussex resident living in temporary housing or at risk of homelessness the opportunity to earn a living wage, access an apprenticeship or job with training, and gain support from a Moving on up Mentor.
What will I receive as a Moving On Up candidate?
A qualification or in work training and a living wage.
An in-work mentor to overcome personal barriers and to provide budgeting training, as well as support to find move on accommodation.
Funding for any work-related expenses such as travel, childcare, work wear and IT equipment.
Funding towards securing move on accommodation once settled into your new job or apprenticeship.
An opportunity to access 1-1 confidence skills coaching.
How do I apply?
Ask a Support Worker, Housing officer or Work coach to refer you, or you can refer yourself by filling in our online referral form – https://forms.office.com/r/VEXXe8G31C
Am I eligible?
You have identification and the right to live and work in the UK.
You are living in Emergency, Temporary, Supported accommodation, a B&B or a women’s refuge.
You are at risk of homelessness in general housing and can provide evidence of your arrears or an eviction notice.
What happens once I am referred?
An SCDA mentor will contact you, who will explain more about the programme and ask you about your situation and work interests. Once you’ve been accepted onto the
programme, you’ll be matched to any current vacancies, or you can check current vacancies that are sent to you. If you’re interested in being referred to Moving On Up, please speak to your Keyworker.
