Community Food Logistics Coordinator
Part Time, 22.5 hours per week, (work pattern required: Monday/Wednesday/Thursday)
The role is fixed term for 12 months in the first instance
Salary range £24,234 pa pro rata – £25,717 pa pro rata (upper levels awarded for previous experience)
Based in Newhaven with travel to outreach and delivery/donation locations in the local area.
We are looking for an exceptional individual with a passion for food security and equity combined
with a can-do attitude to working alongside volunteers.
Seahaven Community Food delivers two community supermarkets, which offer food and other
essential items on a pay as you feel basis, as well as a community kitchen that uses surplus
ingredients to cook nutritious meals for those accessing the Community Supermarkets.
This role supports the coordination and delivery of these projects, including stock management,
packing and organising food for transportation, receiving donations and food deliveries, and safe
lifting and handling thereof, managing inventories and surplus produce and overseeing volunteers.
The post holder will also drive our van between venues; appropriate management support and
training will be given.
Our ideal candidate will have experience of working &/or volunteering in, the community food or
retail sector with an understanding and ability to work with people from marginalised or socially
excluded backgrounds. You will be organised and with good administration skills and be a great
communicator with confidence and adaptability.
Confidence in safely lifting and handling crates of donated food and other items is an essential
aspect of this role.
