Coronavirus (Covid 19):
SCDA are working hard to ensure we minimise any risks of Covid 19 to the people who access our services, staff and volunteers. We are following the latest guidance from government to ensure our staff, volunteers and service users stay safe and healthy.
We continue to maintain our service delivery, where possible and we are adapting delivery so that we can continue to help local people. We will advise of any changes and reductions to our services, for example telephone appointments.

Newhaven room hire at Denton Island Community Centre.
We offer eight excellent value rooms for hire in Newhaven at our bright and spacious community centre. Room sizes range from small counselling/meeting spaces to our largest room ideal for larger community groups or training needs. Our sensory room is a great space to explore and relax in and is available to hire for individuals or small groups. The Community Kitchen is Food Hygiene standards registered and available to hire to community members/groups or businesses.
Hiring a room from us includes:
- Free wifi
- Free carpark
- Baby changing facilities
- Friendly reception staff to welcome your guests (daytime only)
- Buggy store
- Advertising in our centre and through our social media platforms
- Potential for funding application support to keep your community group sustainable
Denton Island Community Centre has baby changing facilities and a buggy store. We are fully DDA compliant with easy building access for all and a private, free car park which can be used by visitors.
SCDA are particularly interested in supporting community and voluntary groups/individuals including charities that support residents of Newhaven.
