SCDA Trustee Information Pack Oct 2025

Can you help make a real difference with people at a local level? Do you have skills and experience that you could bring to our Board and share? If the answer is yes, have you considered becoming a Trustee?

Who are Sussex Community Development Association (SCDA)?
We are an East Sussex charity who strengthen local communities by providing a range of services, activities, projects & support to enable people to overcome often complex challenges. Our services include:
– community food & community supermarkets
– family learning, events & other community activities
– environmental and active travel work
– advice & information
– support to access & sustain employment
– infrastructure support to other charities
– Denton Island Nursery, Sussex Community Counselling and 2 retail charity shops

We have a fantastic & committed group of Trustees but do need more, and we’re particularly seeking people who have specific skills and experience in any or all of the following:
– Finance and commerce
– Business and social enterprise development
– Human Resources
– Digital/marketing and promotions
– Charitable fundraising
Awareness & sensitivity to issues relating to health and wellbeing and the needs of disadvantaged communities would be welcomed.

We’re looking for people to join our Board of Trustees in realising our ambitious goals to make a difference in local communities and with local people. SCDA Trustees are key to helping make this happen. We look forward to hearing from you.
