SCDA Trustee Information Pack revised March 2024

Can you help to make a real difference with people at a local level? Do you have skills and experience that you could bring to our Board? If the answer is yes, have you considered becoming a Trustee?

Who are Sussex Community Development Association (SCDA)?
We strengthen local communities across East Sussex by providing a range of services & support to enable people overcome often complex challenges. Our services include youth activities, community hubs offering community food & community supermarkets, family events & other activities, a nursery, advice & information, support to access employment and 2 retail charity shops. We aim to support community cohesion and individual health and well-being, providing quality information & help getting people into work.
We need Trustees who can support our Governance and particularly seek people who have specific skills and experience in:
Finance and commerce;
Business and social enterprise development;
Human Resources;
Digital/marketing and promotions;
Charitable fundraising.
Specific awareness of issues relating to health and wellbeing and the needs of disadvantaged communities would be welcomed.

SCDA is looking for effective people to join its Board of Trustees in realising our ambitious goals to make a difference in local communities and with local people. SCDA Trustees are key to helping make this happen. We look forward to hearing from you.
