MoveAbility launched in Newhaven in April 2024 to help local people with disabilities in Peacehaven, Newhaven and Lewes District to travel more actively. The three year project has been funded by the Motability Foundation, a charity which funds, supports, researches and innovates so that all disabled people can make the journeys they choose.
SCDA and the Walk Wheel Cycle Trust will be working in partnership to deliver a programme of events and activities to support people with visible and hidden disabilities, who want to travel actively for their health and independence.
During the first year we have been offering people local walks, heritage walks, photo walks, learn to ride sessions, cycle confidence sessions, adapted cycle rides, cycle maintenance, cycle rides and more. We offer group and individual sessions that can be tailored to meet individual needs and requirements.
