GSA Kitchen

GSA Kitchen is a BBO project, based in Newhaven and aimed at supporting people who are unemployed or economically inactive with employability skills to help them back into the world of work.

We support you to identify and overcome barriers, build confidence, develop skills, access existing local learning and support services, get hands on experience and an all-important reference. You will need to be over 16 years old and living in Lewes District.

Our team offers a free and friendly one to one coaching support service, for those thinking about finding work or entering into learning, but need help achieving their goals and ambitions.

Do you have any spare time and know your way around a kitchen? Or maybe you’d like to learn more about cooking? Volunteer at our Newhaven Kitchen and we’ll put you to work!

We offer:

Employability related training: CV workshop, Application Training, Preparing for Interview, The Hidden Job Market, Food Safety courses and overcoming barriers to employment.

New Way Forward: designed to help people who need to reconsider career direction.

Confidence building: will help you to recognise their skills and qualities and work on personal development.

GSA Kitchen offers a nurturing environment aimed at reducing social and emotional barriers to entering work as well as health issues such as obesity and diabetes. We aim to help increase general wellbeing and confidence, and encourage a constructive dialogue around work and employment.
