At Newhaven Community Kitchen, Denton Island Community Centre, Newhaven:

Monthly Cooking Skills Classes Tuesdays 10.30am-1pm. Learn basic cooking skills while making delicious meals and eating together.

Grub Club Alternate Thursdays 9.30am-12pm. Like to cook or want to learn? Enjoy being part of a friendly team and cook a three course meal, which we package for local people in need.

Budget Bites Wednesdays 10.30am-1pm, from 23rd January – 13th February 2019. For when the budget bites…learn how to make very cheap but delicious meals. Have a chat, make new friends and eat together.

Dish Dash Evening Cookery Tuesdays 6-7.30pm, from 26th February – 12th March 2019. Learn to cook a range of quick and tasty dishes in this fun and friendly group!

At Prospects House, George Street, Hailsham:

Lentils? What do I do with those? Thursdays 1.30-3.30pm, from 7th – 21st February 2019. We are always hearing about lentils being a great source of protein, fibre and iron…why not come along and learn some fun and super easy recipes!


If you are a cooking enthusiast and would like to run a cooking group for members of the public please contact us. We can provide Food Hygiene courses and First Aid courses to enable you to do this. You will then become a Health Champion Volunteer and will be able to access help, resources and training from us.  Useful links:
