Bike Technician, Newhaven
Our Recycle project based on Denton Island, Newhaven needs volunteers who are interested in learning how to mend and refurbish donated bikes. SCDA shops – Newhaven and Lewes
Our shops are located in High Street, Newhaven and High Street, Lewes. The shops provide useful income for our community projects as well as a friendly space for people to meet up and to volunteer. Denton Island Community Centre, Newhaven
Crèche Support: Support our term time crèche which looks after children aged 0-5 years old on Wednesday mornings 9:30am-12:30pm. Must be able to complete an enhanced DBS check and Child Protection Training.
Volunteer Youth Worker: Providing support with our range of Youth activities for 8-18 years old in Newhaven. Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings. Must be able to complete an enhanced DBS check and complete Child Protection Training.
Jitterbugs Volunteer: Come and support our Jitterbugs Parent and Toddler Groups and join the fun of singing and messy play!! Must be able to complete an enhanced DBS check and complete Child Protection Training.

Prospects House, Hailsham
We are looking for volunteers in Hailsham to help cover Prospects House reception. Prospects House is in Hailsham and used as a base for Community Development Hailsham and the Safe From Harm project, both SCDA projects and houses East Sussex Association for the Blind (ESAB); to deliver low cost counselling; to run Employability support services; to offer free and low cost courses
The building is open 9.00am to 4.30pm Monday – Thursday and we are asking volunteers to commit to a minimum of 2 hours per week.
We also have a great opportunity to volunteer for our Join Together project, befriending for isolated people in and around Hailsham.

Volunteer cycle pilots needed, Bexhill
The Charter Centre owns a tri-shaw that was kindly donated by Gaby Hardwicke Solicitors. Cycling Without Age (CWA) is a global movement originating from Denmark. To find out more about CWA see https://cyclingwithoutage.org/the-pilot/ We are a small group of volunteers dedicated to helping elderly citizens and others who would benefit from the ‘cycling experience’ of the tri-shaw. Passengers can feel ‘the wind in their hair’ along Bexhill seafront. Volunteers can sign up as pilots or as admin / operational support. Cycle pilot training takes place weekly, please call for more information
