Food Partnership Co-ordinator – Lewes District
Full Time (37 hrs per week)
Salary: £27,041 per annum
Fixed term contract for 1 year, in the first instance
Based Newhaven with travel to outreach and delivery/donation locations across E. Sussex
You will coordinate the food partnership strategy for the Lewes District, which should encapsulate areas such as food security, growing, cooking and healthy eating. Working collaboratively, you will work to create a climate where all partners and stakeholders can work together beyond the life of the project to develop a legacy for sustainable food security.
Ideally you will develop relationships and work with partners and other agencies on the use of appropriate space for community gardens, orchards, and allotments for food growing, production & distribution. In addition you will work positively to build partnerships and broker contact across the district, including with faith based foodbanks and foodbanks in Peacehaven & Newhaven.
With responsibility for undertaking a training needs analysis of partners, you will work with providers to meet those needs, ensuring appropriate skills are in place and supporting joint working across SCDA projects and partners. Operating as the strategic link between the local food partnership and East Sussex Healthy Weight Partnership, as well as between Lewes District and Brighton & Hove Food Partnership, you will be an ambassador for SCDA’s services and demonstrate sensitivity to the aims of the project and the organisation as a whole.
Based in Newhaven with travel across E. Sussex, car driver and owner preferred as many locations are rural and not served well by public transport. Post subject to DBS check.
Closing date: 5pm Sunday 11th Oct 2020
