25 hours per week
Salary range: £20,092 – £23,080 per annum pro rata, dependant on previous experience
Fixed Term until 31st July 2019 in the first instance
This is a great opportunity to join our friendly and knowledgeable Information Hub team. As a Community Navigator you will be responsible for providing good quality information, non-specialist advice and appropriate signposting to a wide range of clients. You will help people access other relevant and specific services, or specialist advice provision, both in-house and through a range of partners.
Many clients who access the service are very vulnerable and require support and assistance; you will develop a suitable action plan, if required, and can conduct up to 6 one hour appointments per client as needed.
Successful applicants will understand their communities and the range of services available in them. Good people skills are a must, along with the following attributes:
- Able to plan your own workload
- Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
- IT literate, particularly working knowledge of Excel
- Knowledge of supporting vulnerable service users
This role will be primarily delivered from the Newhaven Advice & Information Hub with occasional outreach locations across the Havens.
The post is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
